Hearts of Gold Pet Services is owned and operated by
Ken Markert and Lauren Bishop, a husband and wife team. Both are long time pet lovers, and nothing makes them laugh out loud as much as animals!
 
They have two, 4-legged canine "children," Goldie and Harley. And these two "kids" bring joy, love and laughter to their lives each and every day!

Goldie is a labrador/husky mix who was adopted from the Humane Society of Southwest Washington in Vancouver. Goldie is a fantastic dog, filled with life, kisses, sweetness and a happy attitude.

In April 2008, Goldie was diagnosed with Addison's Disease, a non-contagious disease that shut down her adrenal glands. So far, her disease has been controllable with treatment, which consists of a monthly shot and pills. So Ken and Lauren have become very skilled at administering medication to dogs.

Harley is a young border collie whom they rescued from a bad living situation. Fortunately, in just a short time, he's become a loving, trusting, cuddling, playful, mischievous bundle of energy and life.

Every day they are grateful to have found these two incredibly loving, smart dogs.

Ken is a former graphic artist with a degree in Photography. Lauren is a speaker and seminar leader with a degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting.
